"Choice by choice, moment by moment, I build the necklace of my day, stringing together the choices that form artful living".
Julia Cameron
What imaginary necklace are you wearing at the moment? Is it one made from diamonds or jewels that reflect how you sparkle and shimmer from within, touching everyone you meet in an illuminating and uplifting manner? Or is it one made from six inch steel links weighed down by a swinging iron ball as you trudge through your day annoyed with everyone and everything?
We all have the choice to build the imaginary necklace we wear each day. We can all choose at any time to put down the six inch steel links and replace them with beautiful diamonds.
I start every morning with thanks for the gift of a new day before listening to Doreen Virtue's Morning Meditation while the house is still quiet. This beautiful meditation is a gentle reminder to act from love and with love during the course of the day. I then get dressed knowing that the imaginary necklace I have chosen to wear is a beautiful one.
Don't get me wrong, it may not stay like that during the course of the day as thoughts and actions that aren't from a place of love may tarnish it, but I know that it is up to me rather than anyone else to keep it sparkling so a regular check throughout the day is required.
Take a quick look at your imaginery necklace? What does it say about you? Is it bright and sparkling, tarnished or tattered? Is it time you made a new one?
